Wow. Covering all the dilemmas of creative creation. Nice! And that's just it in a poet or writer sense, to achieve what is true in the moment of getting something down, what arrives, what shines light, what hides with darkness. Also, I think ambiguity and polysemy in our work should uphold their real presence as a force in our lives.

Got polysemy from Robert Duncan. His "Structures of Rime" poem (collected in a variety of his books) and "The H.D. Book" weighed heavily in my early work. From my perspective, contemporary art is still responding to the vast array and formidable scope of Modernists' efforts and achievements made in a few short decades from the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Duncan was one of many who responded and extended Modernisms achievements and made it new. You have 'an ear for the sea-surge' in your work. Inspiring. Thank you!

Thank you. I will pull my modernist books off the shelf this summer. I teach the theater artists from those movements, but know less than I should about the poets.

Another one, a rich and juicy one I will read again and again until it all soaks in.

The last three questions had me thinking of the Stoics. Another fantastic post Ren — a journey as always.
